It was a beautiful day for a cruise! We spent the day heading north on the Cape Fear River. Biscuit is safely docked at Port City Marina in Wilmington, North Carolina, a “hurricane hole” marina that will help protect Biscuit if there is hurricane activity while we’re gone. I’m combining our travel and layover days into one spectacular blog! We had a good cruise on 8/10 to Morningstar Marina in Southport. Winds were sassy but the deck hands and the captain were able to hold her close to the dock while we got her tied up. Shortly after, Mark Scagnelli picked us up…

So…it turns out that we are nowhere close to Myrtle Beach proper. We’re actually well to the north. I do remember passing through Myrtle Beach on the AICW and thinking, “look at those huge crowds!” So, we spent a quiet day at the marina catching up on sleep, route planning, boat chores, and expense tracking.…
