Day 84 (7/14/26) – Fernandina Harbor Marina to Jekyll Harbor Marina

Today’s highlight – we finally made it to Georgia! After almost 7 months in Florida, we’re finally moving up the East Coast. Today we took a quick tour of the north end of Jekyll Island on a golf cart. They have excellent hike and bike trails under stately, moss-covered live oaks, bordered by salt marshes.…

Day 82 (7/12/26) – Layover in Fernandina Beach (Amelia Island)

Today we explored Fernandina Beach, a lovely seaside town on Amelia Island. The marina was close by and the city was very walkable. The quirky History Museum provided a time capsule of Amelia Island’s past. Fernandina Beach has managed to morph into a small, quaint seaside village with lots of great views, cute shops, and…

Day 81 (7/11/26) – Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor to Fernandina Harbor Marina

A quick update on our boat repairs. After getting a high engine temperature alarm on the port engine, we shut the engine down and pulled into Camachee Cove Harbor to troubleshoot and repair. Luckily, Camachee Boat Yard was nearby. The technician diagnosed the problem immediately. Initially the captain thought it was the thermostat on the…

Day 79 (7/9/26) – Saint Augustine Municipal Marina to Camachee Cove Yacht Harbor

We loved Saint Augustine so much, we’re still here! We were headed out to Fernandina Beach yesterday when we got a high temperature alarm on the port engine. Luckily, there was a small marina nearby that we could hobble to on one engine (fighting a decent river current along the way). The mechanic is here…

Day 76 (7/6/26) – Halifax River Yacht Club to Saint Augustine Municipal Marina

We had an early departure this morning from Daytona Beach. The Saint Augustine Municipal Marina is well known among Loopers for its strong currents and difficult docking. This is mainly due to proximity to the Saint Augustine Inlet directly to the north. To counteract this, we timed our trip to arrive during “slack tide” when…

Day 73 (7/3/26) – Titusville Marina to Halifax River Yacht Club

Today’s highlights were manatees and traffic, traffic, and more traffic. What were we thinking?? It’s Fourth of July weekend!! We are safely docked at the lovely Halifax River Yacht Club in Daytona and we’re staying put until Monday. We plan to visit Daytona Motor Speedway on Sunday. Until next time – sweet dreams!

Day 72 (7/2/26) – Layover in Titusville

We had a fun day exploring Kennedy Space Center near Titusville. I highly recommend a visit if you pass through. Get there early and get to the bus tours first thing before the crowds arrive. We’re off to Daytona tomorrow for a couple of days. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Fourth of July! Until…

Day 71 (7/1/26) – Melbourne Harbor Marina to Titusville Marina

We had a breezy trip to Titusville on the AICW today. The summer heat and humidity create many challenges when departing and arriving at marinas. Add winds or currents to that and you are in for a wild ride! Biscuit handles the seas with grace (I always feel safe), although I wish we had bow…
