Day 108 (8/8/26) – Wacca Wache Marina to Myrtle Beach Yacht Club

Before Myrtle Beach…
After Myrtle Beach. Weekend boat traffic, combined with a swing bridge and no wake zones, made for great entertainment!
Swing bridges are great fun to watch. The span typically turns 90 degrees (a quarter-turn), though some turn 45 degrees depending on the channel angle. When closed, the bridge rests securely on end piers. To open, mechanical cams or jacks lift the span and shift its entire weight onto a central pivot. Electric or hydraulic motors turn the massive structure using large gears and pinions.

We’re almost to North Carolina! We have several travel days remaining before we dock Biscuit in Wilmington, North Carolina and fly home to reconnect with family and friends.

We’ll explore Myrtle Beach tomorrow. Until next time – sweet dreams!
