Day 94 (7/24/36) – Thunderbolt Marina to Windmill Harbour Marina (Hilton Head)

Driftwood along the marshes. Do you see something in the tree? Extra points if you can identify it!
Windmill Harbour Marina. Notice the small lock at the entrance. The marina shares real estate with the South Carolina Yacht Club, which has a lovely pool and restaurant. Dinner was amazing! We’re going back tomorrow.

Burgees along the restaurant ceiling.

After a lovely week exploring historic Savannah, we departed today for Hilton Head. We had calm seas and light winds. There were quite a few dredge barges along our route that we had to navigate around, along with lots of wiggles. Windmill Harbor Marina is really lovely, secluded, and quiet. The lock eliminates tidal effects and it’s also well protected from winds. Tomorrow we plan to explore the nearby community on our folding bikes. Until next time – sweet dreams!
