Day 70 (6/30/26) – Layover in Melbourne, Florida

We had a lovely dinner with Neil and Corky Long. Rob and Neil met at BFI, where Rob worked after graduating from Baylor. Our last visit was 30+ years ago!

We also celebrated my Beddian Birthday today! A special day indeed.

I realized after all this time that I hadn’t shared any photos of Biscuit’s interior. You’re in for a treat! Here’s a quick tour of a 1989 Grand Banks 42 Classic:

Main living area (photo taken from the bow). We replaced the upholstery and the refrigerators.
Main living area (photo taken from the stern). We spend a lot of time here in the mornings and evenings. We rarely use the inside helm.
Our tiny kitchen. We don’t use the range or oven much. The air fryer and microwave rule! Also, dining out.
Our tiny little pantry. All other provisions are stored under the couches in the living room. My greatest challenge, after docking, is managing inventory.
The v-berth. This is my space. I call it my coffin.
The rear berth. This is Rob’s space. Much roomier.
V-berth bathroom (or head). It’s tiny but very efficient.
The rear berth head. Much roomier, with a walk in shower off to the left.
The fly bridge. We spend all of our time here when we’re under way. The view is fabulous!
Lovely teak details in the rear berth. Biscuit is a class act! She’s very comfortable, too.

I hope you enjoyed the tour! Let me know if you have any questions. Until tomorrow – sweet dreams!

Thanks for the tour! Beautiful boat, a lot roomier than I thought. Can you run the boat from the fly bridge as well as from the interior?

    1. Bo – absolutely! If bad weather approaches, we scurry down to the inside helm. Also, the two wheels are physically connected and will steer identically. We much prefer the cruising experience on the fly bridge!
