Day 57 (6/18/26) – Marco Island Yacht Club to Marlin Bay Resort and Marina (Marathon Key)

We were up very early and on the water by 6:45 am…little did we know what lay ahead! Picture riding a bucking bronco for 2 hours straight…
At this point in the journey, the waves had calmed down significantly. We were so happy!

Today was truly a red letter day! We traveled on open water (Gulf of Mexico, not ICW) for 104.6 miles in a little under 11 hours, a personal best for me. The seas started out calm, but by 9 am, we were riding a bucking bronco! Picture chairs going airborne on the fly bridge. We took our motion sickness meds and pressed on. It last for almost 2 hours. Fortunately by noon the wind and swells had settled. We are safely docked at Marlin Bay Marina on Marathon in the beautiful Florida Keys. No doubt we’ll sleep well tonight. Tomorrow we’re off to Islamorada as we continue up the Florida Keys. Until next time – sweet dreams!

    1. Donna – it was a little crazy for a while but we were always safe. Biscuit handled the seas with grace!
