Today was a layover day in Morgan City. Wind speeds are high (17-18 mph as the cold front pushes through) and temperatures are low (upper 40’s, soon to drop to low 30’s), so we’ll wait things out until it warms.
We spent a lovely day with Michelle and Chuck Boudreaux of Berwick, Louisiana. Michelle and I are both graduated from Tulane University in New Orleans in 1985. We became good friends and never lost touch. She currently teaches chemistry classes at Berwick High School and her husband Chuck coaches the football team and is a substitute teacher. Michelle and Chuck were kind enough to shuttle us around for laundry and provisions. We had a great fried catfish lunch at The Galley. I’m so grateful for our friendship!
Just for grins, I’ve added a screen shot of our navigation tool, Aqua Map. While we’re under way, we’re running this program on 3 mobile devices to supplement the boat’s Garmin chart plotter, radar, and autopilot. Coupled with a good pair of binoculars, we have lots of good navigation aids.
Until tomorrow! Sweet dreams.
