Day 51 (2/27/26) – Boca Grande Marina to Cayo Costa Anchorage

Our anchorage tonight in Pine Island Sound just off Cayo Costa
Same anchorage this morning!
We put up the small steadying sail last night to help minimize boat movement while “on the hook” (anchored). The other option was to take down the bimini cover, which is quite an operation, especially in the wind. Rob asked – “what would Ty Geiger do?” So up went the sail!
FYI – that’s not a real snake on the hatch cover in the photo – they’re very realistic, though! We have one on the bow and one on the stern. We use them to keep birds from partying on the decks.
Today we had a short but windy cruise across famous Boca Grande Pass, home of world class tarpon fishing. Crowds descend on the area April-June for one of a kind catch and release fishing events.

We had such a lovely time in Boca Grande- I was sad to leave. We had a short cruise to our anchor for the night near Cayo Costa State Park – they’re still recovering from Hurricane Ian shenanigans. We’ll check it out in the morning with the dinghy before we head to Fort Myers. Until next time – sweet dreams!
