Day 43 (2/19/26) – Marine Jack (Sarasota) to Cape Haze Marina (Englewood)

Tonight we are safely docked at Cape Haze Marina until next Tuesday. We made nine bridge crossings today – definitely a record! You really have to confirm the clearance numbers because they’re not always accurate. The bridge operator isn’t allowed to give you a clearance number ( no doubt for liability reasons), so you have to confirm once you get to the actual fender.
This is how we kept track of our bridge crossings along the route. Thank you to Mike and Kelly Beck for the tip and the board!

Today’s journey was uneventful and scenic. Lots of marinas mangroves, and beautiful yachts. Tomorrow’s assignment – exploring nearby beaches for fossilized shark teeth and seashells! We have no less than six beaches to explore between Venice Beach and Stump Pass Beach.

Trivia – Stephen King (I’m a HUGE fan) winters on the northern end of nearby Casey Key.

Until next time – sweet dreams!
