Day 15 (1/22/26) – Homeport Marina to Sunset Isle Resort and Yacht Club

Biscuit under way on the GIWW. Looking sassy!
One of the biggest hazards on the boat – falling into the engine room during early morning engine checks!
These are large, concrete artificial reef modules, specifically a type referred to as “Super Reefs“. These structures are designed to create new marine habitats and enhance fishing opportunities in areas with limited natural reef.
This is our view from the inside helm. We’re running Navionic from the chart plotter and Aqua Map from the iPad. Aqua map wins, hands down. This is a great place to be when it’s cold or rainy, but we prefer the view from the flybridge!
We finally made it to Florida and the water is beautiful!

Another good cruising day as we made our way across the Florida Panhandle. We’re safely anchored in Fort Walton Beach. Tomorrow’s destination is Panama City Beach. Then it’s Apalachicola, where we’ll rest and recover while we wait for a Gulf Crossing weather window. Looking forward to revisiting!

Until tomorrow – sweet dreams!
